Email collection

Add an Email capture form anywhere you want readers to leave an address without joining your Newsletter. Captured addresses are kept separate from Newsletter subscriptions, but both are managed in one Collected email list.

Before you add a form

Open Settings > Email > Email settings and complete the From name, From email, and Reply-to address. Forms remain disabled until these settings are valid. An owner login email can be used as the Reply-to address without additional verification; other addresses must be confirmed.

Collecting addresses does not require a Mailing address. Before emailing people from Collected email, complete the shared Mailing address on the same Email settings page. Blogmaker adds that address and a unique unsubscribe link to every audience message.

Add an Email capture form

  1. Open Posts or Pages, then create or edit the content where the form should appear.
  2. Use the content menu to add a Form block.
  3. Choose Email capture as the Form type.
  4. Choose whether to collect a name, and customize the heading, description, labels, or success message if needed.
  5. Preview the page, then publish your changes.

Manage collected email

Open Email > Collected email to filter and sort addresses, see the page where each address was collected, import or export CSV files, and email one or more contacts. The Source column distinguishes Email captures, Newsletter subscribers, and imported addresses.

When someone unsubscribes from an audience message, their address remains in the list for your records but is marked Unsubscribed and cannot be selected for future sends.

An Email capture does not subscribe someone to your Newsletter. Use a Newsletter form when you want confirmed permission to send Newsletter posts.
