Summary:

BlogMaker has introduced an auto-generated post summary feature (like this one) that creates concise summaries for posts over 150 words, which can be edited by users. These summaries appear before the main content and can be included in newsletters. The "Summary" label is customizable through "Blog Translations" in "Settings", enhancing the platform's utility for content creators.

Since launching the AI Writing Agents and Jobs last week, I went a step ahead and launched auto–generated post summaries.

The way it works is this: Once you have written a post (with at least 150 words), click on the "Create Post Summary" button (right below the main image) and BlogMaker will auto–generate a short post summary based on your writing, which you can further edit to fit your needs.

A notification box labeled 'Post Summary' displays a message about BlogMaker's recent infrastructure upgrade from a shared to a dedicated server, highlighting improvements to NGINX, MySQL, and PHP. Below, a green confirmation message reads 'Post Summary created successfully,' with a grey button labeled 'Remove Post Summary' on the right. Ask ChatGPT

Once you Publish the post, the Post Summary appears right before the main copy starts, and if you have Table of Contents turned on, it will appear above those.

A highlighted text box contains a summary beginning with the bolded word 'Summary:' followed by a description of BlogMaker's infrastructure upgrade from a shared to a dedicated server, including updates to NGINX, MySQL, and PHP, with future plans for CDN integration to enhance speed.

The "Summary" bit, right before the actual summary starts, can be translated in any language via "Settings > Blog Translations".

Here's a quick video on how all that works in practice.

A screenshot of the BlogMaker editor interface showing a post in editing mode. The main content area displays a large image of a white letter 'S' on an orange wall with an alt text and caption. Below it is a 'Post Summary' section describing the auto-generated summary feature. On the right, the 'Post Settings' panel includes options for title, date, author, categories, social sharing, and advanced controls. A video player bar is visible at the bottom with a timestamp of 0:58 out of 2:31, and a small webcam feed of the presenter is shown in the bottom-left corner.

Post Summaries in the Newsletter

Furthermore, Post Summaries can be included in the Newsletter you send out to your subscribers.

A newsletter editor interface titled 'Email post' with fields for subject ('BlogMaker's Major Infrastructure Upgrade'), preview text ('Learn more how we're keeping BlogMaker healthy...'), and a custom message. Below, the user can select the newsletter type and toggle options for showing post summary, related posts, and recent posts. A yellow 'Confirm Send' button is at the bottom.
Email Post as a Newsletter

When email-ing a post that has a Post Summary, simply toggle On the "Show Post Summary" option and the summary will be included with the post that goes out as a Newsletter.
